Wilderness Skills & Heritage Experiences
Our Skills & Heritage Experiences combine Nordic traditions with practical mountain skills. Participants learn techniques that sustained explorers and settlers while enjoying the beauty of Ashley National Forest and the Uinta Mountains. These experiences are perfect for adventurers, families, and youth groups who want to connect with the land, heritage, and God’s creation.

Enhance your adventure with authentic clothing inspired by the traditions of Viking explorers and American mountain men. Each garment is handcrafted by us using natural materials and traditional designs, helping you fully experience the spirit of the old ways while exploring the mountains.

All items are handmade to order in small batches and designed to be durable, practical, and historically inspired.

Sample Schedule
Day 1
Meet at the trailhead or camp where we introduce the guides, review safety, and talk about the traditions behind the skills you’ll learn.
Camp Setup & Orientation
Participants learn the basics of setting up camp, organizing gear, and preparing for life in the wilderness.
Fire Building Workshop
Hands-on instruction in traditional fire starting methods and how to safely build and maintain a campfire.
Day 2
Learn practical skills such as shelter building, knife and axe safety, navigation basics, and other techniques used by explorers and mountain men.
Trail Exploration
Short hikes through the surrounding forest to observe the land, discuss tracking and foraging basics, and enjoy the beauty of the Uinta Mountains.
Outdoor Lunch
Simple camp-style meal prepared and shared together.
Day 3
Learn about Nordic explorers and frontier mountain men while practicing traditional outdoor skills.

Evenings
Campfire Cooking & Fellowship
Prepare a hearty meal over the fire while sharing stories and knowledge about wilderness living and heritage traditions.

Night Under the Stars
Enjoy the quiet beauty of the mountains and the peaceful rhythm of life in the wilderness.
